Oscoda County

Oscoda County is located in the northeastern part of the lower peninsula. The county contains 560 square miles and is the 47th largest in the state. The county seat is Mio. The Huron National Forest and the AuSable State Forest cover much of the county. Very little of the land is agricultural and most of that is devoted to livestock. Lumber and wood products make up the primary manufacturing sector. Hunting, fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities are available in abundance.
