The village of Lincoln is located in Alcona County approximately eight miles west of Harrisville. Numerous lakes surround the village making it a popular tourist area. Lincoln prepared for future growth by establishing its own industrial park. The village was first settled as a lumber mill site in 1885 and from its location 7 1/2 miles west of Harrisville it was named West Harrisville. Given a station on the Detroit, Bay City & Alpena Railroad in 1886. Platted in 1886 and recorded in 1887. William C. Reynolds became its first postmaster on April 28, 1887, with the office renamed Lincoln on June 24, 1899. Incorporated as a village in 1907. Lincoln is an incorporated village in Alcona County.
