Au Sable River - 3.5 miles east of Grayling - 135 miles.  Popular river for canoeists and trout fisherman.  Put-in at Burtons Field Campground.  Frequent access points.  Below Mio, fast water and dam portages.  Camping on public land.  Take out at Oscoda on Lake Huron.

Grayling, Lewistion, Mio, McKinley, Curtisville, Glennie  & Oscoda

Au Sable River, South Branch - Deerheart Valley - 24 miles - Put-in at Chase Bridge.  Passes through Mason Tract preserve.  Camping only at Canoe Harbor Forest Campground.  Joins main stream.  “Canoe Trail Guide” identifies landmarks between Smith and Chase Bridges (available at Campbells Canoe Livery.  Roscommon, MI 48653

Roscommon

Ocqueoc River - 8 miles southeast of Millersburg - 30 miles - Sections unsuitable for novices.  Put-in at Lake Emma off County Road 634.  Portage around Ocqueoc Falls.  Convenient road access.  Camping midway.  Take out at Lake Huron.

Millersburg

Rifle River - Lupton - 50 miles - Designated Wild-Scenic River.  Rapids hazardous for novices.  Takeout at bridges above Saginaw Bay.

Lupton

Thunder Bay - 3 miles southwest of Atlanta - 80 miles - Put-in at Lake 15 Forest Campground.  Quick, shallow water in upper stretch.  Reserves and dam portages.  Rapids.  Takeout in Alpena on Lake Huron.
